Q- How long does it take to draw a caricature?
A- Traditional takes about 5 minutes per person. Digital 7-10 minutes per person.
Q-Are some people harder to draw?
A- No. But some people are more interesting and make a funnier drawing. Brad Pitt is a very handsome man but makes a boring caricature. Whereas a Walter Matthau, every line drawn becomes an outburst of laughter from an on looking crowd.
Q- What do I need to provide as I have you draw at my special event?
A- I will need a small area to set up in, about 5 to 8 feet, a comfortable chair for me and chairs for the guests who will be drawn. For digital I will need an electrical outlet to plug into. Everything else I will provide.
Q- Do you offer caricature in full color?
A- For traditional I recommend black and white to get the most people done in the limited time I will be there. I do offer full color caricatures but they take longer per person and it is at a higher rate. Digital caricatures are available in Black and white and full color.
Q- How long does it take for you to set up?
It takes between 2-5 minutes, depending on whether it is traditional or digital, digital requires just a few extra minutes.
Q- How far will you travel?
A- I am local in the Las Vegas/Henderson , NV area, but am willing to travel as needed. Travel fees will be added if outside of my local area.
Q- Do you draw cartoon bodies?
A- Yes, at clients request. I usually just draw head and shoulders for speed and efficiency.
Q- What size paper do you use?
A- For traditional they are drawn on 11” x 17” paper. Digital are printed on 4” x 6” photo paper.
Q- Are you able to draw on different sizes?
A- Yes, I have done them on napkins, phone covers, and all kinds of promotional items.
Q- Is it extra to have my logo or slogan printed on the paper?
A- Yes, an extra charge will be added. Pricing will depend on what you want to add. I can add a logo, slogan, headline, or design an illustrated themed boarder or background to emphasize the theme of your event.
Q- How long have you been drawing caricatures?
A- I started drawing professionally back in 1976. I was bored one night so I started drawing caricatures from my High school yearbook of teachers, coaches, and fellow classmates. When people saw them they got a big kick out of them. They ended up on posters and hanging up in lockers, around the school. The principle even called me into his office…where they hired me to do murals and bulletin boards, thus starting my life’s career.
Q- If I am having a big event and want to have multiple artists, can you recommend other artists?
A- I can handle the whole process. I have put together events where the need was up to 16 artists. Your event will only have top quality, professional artists. And my services will include the hiring, directing, and processing of payments for all artists.
Q- What do you need from me to provide?
A- You can email me good quality photos, the more the better so I can get a good understanding of the subject’s features and personality. A detailed list of what you want emphasized and how it is going to be presented and used.
Q- What is the turnaround?
A- It depends on how complicated and detailed you want. Once I get your order with photos I can discuss the time it will take.
Q- What are the prices?
A- It depends on what you want and what quality you are willing to budget for. I can do everything from a pencil sketch to museum quality paintings.
Q- What payment methods do you work with?
A- I can take credit card payments, pay pal, venmo, checks, or money transfers.
Q- Will there be a shipping and handling charge?
A- Yes, determined on size and weight.
Q- Is you work guaranteed?
A- Yes, we will work together through out the whole process, sending you sketches, along the way, for your approval. Final artwork will get your approval before it is sent out.
